C3: MARSEILLE
MARSEILLE 4th-11th MAY 2019
The step to the second mobiity of the project means moving towards the knowledge of immaterial cultural heritage. A special effort to evidence a less tangible dimension will have to be made, as it will be necessary in its subsequent educational use to enhace the intercultural dialogue that will guide further exchanges.
BEFORE THE EXCHANGE, activities will be oriented towards discovery and critical reflection on their own immaterial cultural heritage from experience-based methodologies. Participating students’ personal stories will be part of the dynamics used. Relevant themes agreed by all partners will be later dealt with from a multi sensorial perspective, associating each theme field with an access way, for example, music-sound, cuisine-taste, game-sight/touch…A suitcase packed with objects referring to these aspects of their own immaterial heritage will be the final prodcut of this investigation.
DURING THE EXCHANGE, the activities will highlight immaterial heritage in its human dimension as an element of identity and social cohesion. The first day will be devoted to group formation and cohesion, having diversity as a condition to favour students’ work during the exchange. Apart from this, the timetable will be presented, solving any possible organization questions that may arise, and we will learn about the French school and its practices regarding the academic treatment of the project’s object.
On the second and third days, heterogeneous groups will explore different dimensions of each country’s immaterial cultural heritage through the content of the suitcases which had been previously prepared. In this way, students will investigate the heritage of each country, assuming the expert role when dealing with the correspondent theme in their own country. Throughout a methodology based on design thinking, foreign students will try to represent and transmit the aspects worked in each different immaterial heritage.
The fourth day will hold a sharing session through collective presentations of each group’s designs, and will be the framework for evaluation activities among participants and protocols related to farewell.
In the afternoons, we can visit places with interesting heritage in the host town and hold sessions for the evaluation of the implementation of the project and coordination of forthcoming actions.
